How profile verification works: evidence and limits
“Verified” is useful only when you know exactly what was checked. Treat any label as a description of a process, not a guarantee about someone’s intentions.
Separate the claims
A reviewed form, a live video call and an identity-document check answer different questions. None alone proves that a person is single, financially stable or trustworthy. Ask for the scope and date of a check.
Check consistency without collecting sensitive documents
Ask straightforward questions about daily life and plans. If explanations keep changing, pause rather than investigating by asking for bank details or passport copies. Public searches can be incomplete and should not be treated as proof.
Respond to uncertainty
You can decline an introduction if the evidence does not meet your comfort level. Report conflicting information using a short factual account. Do not post private documents publicly to warn others.
