Safety decisions become easier when you decide your boundaries before meeting someone. Keep control of your money, transport and private information.
Before the first call
Use an account that does not reveal your home address or workplace. Choose a neutral background. Agree that neither person will record or share the call without consent. Leave if the conversation becomes sexual, threatening or pressuring.
Before meeting in person
Verify travel arrangements independently. Book your own accommodation, keep your identity documents and arrange your own return transport. Tell someone you trust where you are meeting and make the first meeting public.
If someone asks for money
Never send money to someone you have not properly verified. A review label does not make an emergency, investment or visa-fee request legitimate. Pause, seek independent advice and report the request. If you have paid, contact the payment provider promptly.
